Howard University (historically Black university and research collections)

Howard University, founded in 1867, is a federally chartered historically Black university located in Washington, D.C., that offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The university is home to the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center, which holds one of the largest archival collections documenting African American history and culture in the United States. Howard's campus has played a prominent role in African American education, scholarship, and civic life for over 150 years.
