Dr. William E. Murphey House

The Dr. William E. Murphey House, built around 1824 by George Murphey, is a historic residence located near Trinity, Alabama. This Tidewater cottage, featuring a hall and parlor layout typical of North Carolina, is a rare architectural example in North Alabama. It was passed down to George's son, William, and was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Unfortunately, the house was destroyed by a tornado on April 27, 2011, marking the loss of a significant piece of local history.
