West Ravendale Priory

West Ravendale Priory, located in North East Lincolnshire, England, is a historic Premonstratensian priory founded in 1202. Situated 7 miles southwest of Grimsby, the site features intriguing earthworks and rubble, with its ruins designated as Grade II listed. Originally a cell of the abbey of Beauport in Brittany, the priory was later taken by the English Crown due to conflicts with France and became part of the dowry of Joan of Navarre, wife of Henry IV. After her death, it was assigned to the collegiate church of Southwell. Visitors can explore the remnants of this medieval site, which offers a glimpse into the region's rich ecclesiastical history.
