Exploratorium (Pier 15)

The Exploratorium was founded in 1969 by physicist and educator Frank Oppenheimer as a hands-on science museum and learning laboratory. In 2013 the institution relocated from the Palace of Fine Arts to a renovated Pier 15 on San Francisco's Embarcadero. The museum features hundreds of interactive exhibits and public programs aimed at encouraging experimentation across science, art, and human perception. It also operates research and educational initiatives for teachers and learners of all ages.
