Hotel del Coronado (1888)

Hotel del Coronado opened in 1888 on Coronado Island and was built as a large wooden beachfront resort using 19th-century construction techniques. It became one of the largest wooden structures in the United States and has hosted presidents, celebrities, and public events over more than a century. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated a National Historic Landmark for its architectural and historical significance.
