International Hotel (Virginia City)

The International Hotel, established in 1860 in Virginia City, Nevada, was a significant historical landmark that underwent several transformations, including a major brick expansion in 1862 and a luxurious six-story rebuild in 1877, which became the tallest building in Nevada. It hosted notable guests, including U.S. presidents and military leaders, and featured the state's first hydraulic elevator. Unfortunately, the hotel was destroyed in a fire in 1914, leading to its eventual demolition. Today, the site is a parking lot, but it remains a point of interest for those exploring the rich history of Virginia City and the Comstock Lode.
