Bank of Canada Building (Toronto)

The Bank of Canada Building in Toronto, constructed between 1957 and 1958, served as a regional office for Canada's central bank, featuring secure vaults for gold and cash. Designed by architects Ferdinand Herbert Marani and Robert Schofield Morris, the building showcases a modern interpretation of classical architecture with a clean façade adorned by unique bas-relief carvings by sculptor Cleeve Horne and the Arms of Canada at the entrance. Although the central bank's regional offices have moved to the Sun Life Financial Tower, the building remains a notable example of mid-20th century design in the city.
