Peabody Hotel Ducks

The Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis is known for its daily Duck March: mallard ducks live on the hotel's rooftop and are ceremonially escorted to and from the lobby fountain twice daily. The ritual is performed by the hotel's designated Duckmaster, who cares for the birds and leads them on red carpet via an elevator. The duck tradition at the Peabody dates to the 1930s and remains a long-running tourist attraction.
