Mughal Tahakhana

Mughal Tahakhana, also known as Shah Shuja Tahakhana, is a historic three-storied palace located in the Firozpur area of Bangladesh, approximately 15 km from Chapai Nawabganj District. Built between 1619 and 1658 by Shah Shuja, the son of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, this unique structure served as a 'Temperature Control Unit' for winter comfort, honoring his mentor, Shah Syed Niyamatullah. The palace showcases rare ancient architecture with intricate brickwork and Mughal design elements, including a three-domed mosque and an octagonal tower for contemplation. Set against the backdrop of a large pond, the complex features a hammam and is surrounded by unknown graves believed to belong to companions of Shah Syed Niyamatullah, making it a fascinating site for both tourists and researchers interested in Mughal history and architecture.
