The Capt. Mark Stoddard Farmstead, located in Gales Ferry, Connecticut, is a historic rural Cape style farmhouse built around 1770. Nestled on 130 acres of picturesque land, the property features a well-preserved farmhouse, two barns, and an old privy, all reflecting the architectural style of the 18th century. The farmhouse showcases original interior finishes and a central chimney design typical of its era. Mark Stoddard, a descendant of early settlers, played a role in the American Revolutionary War, and the property remained in his family until 1919.
