Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library-joint city-university library

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library at 150 E San Fernando St is a joint-use library serving both the City of San Jose and San José State University; it opened in 2003. The building consolidated municipal and university collections and offers public exhibitions, special collections, and a range of community and academic programs. Its shared-governance model is frequently cited as a notable example of municipal–university collaboration in library services.
