Wrexham Police Station (1973–2020)

The Wrexham Police Station, a notable example of Brutalist architecture, was constructed in 1973 and served as the tallest building in Wrexham until its demolition in 2020. Designed by Eric Langford Lewis and Stuart Brown, the ten-storey structure featured a distinctive cantilevered tower and housed the divisional headquarters of North Wales Police. Despite its architectural significance, the building faced criticism for its maintenance costs and aesthetic appeal, leading to its closure in 2019 and subsequent demolition. The site has since been repurposed for a Lidl supermarket, marking a significant change in Wrexham's urban landscape.
