Huntridge Theatre's role in Las Vegas live-music history

The Huntridge Theatre opened in 1944 as a movie palace at the eastern edge of Las Vegas and later became a notable local venue for live music and touring rock, punk, and alternative acts. Located on East Charleston Boulevard, the Huntridge has been the focus of preservation and intermittent reopening efforts and is often cited in histories of Las Vegas's non-Strip music scene. Its mid-century theater architecture and later use for concerts link it to the city's broader performance-history outside casino showrooms.
