Plehwe Complex

The Plehwe Complex is a historic collection of saltbox houses located on Boerne Stage Road near Leon Springs in Bexar County, Texas. Known as the Plehwe Stage Coach Inn, it was a competitor to the nearby Aue Stage Coach Inn. The complex was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Originally owned by Capt. Charles Felix George von Plehwe and his family, the site reflects a rich history tied to the Prussian Cavalry and early American settlement. Today, it is maintained by country music star George Strait, making it an intriguing stop for both tourists and researchers interested in Texas history and architecture.
