Michigan Central Station reported hauntings and investigations

Michigan Central Station, a Beaux-Arts rail terminal that opened in 1913 and closed to passenger service in 1988, has long been the subject of local legends about ghostly activity and unexplained sounds. The vacant, decaying building attracted urban explorers and several informal paranormal investigators through the decades. Major media coverage and commercial ghost-tour organizers have repeatedly cited anecdotal reports of apparitions and strange noises at the station. The site was purchased by Ford Motor Company for redevelopment in 2018, which ended much public access but not the station's role in Detroit folklore.
