Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (Botkins, Ohio)

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, established in 1865, is a historic Roman Catholic parish located in Botkins, Ohio. Initially formed by a small group of German immigrant families, the parish has evolved significantly over the years. The original church was replaced by a brick structure in 1867, which underwent renovations and enhancements, including the addition of stained glass windows in 1899. The parish also features an ornate Italianate rectory built in 1887 and a school established in 1881, which was replaced by a new building in 1921. Although the church was modernized in 1961, the rectory and school were recognized for their historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Today, the parish remains active and is part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, contributing to the cultural heritage of the region known as the 'Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches.'
