The Mapparium at the Mary Baker Eddy Library

The Mapparium is a three-story, 30-foot-diameter stained-glass globe installed in 1935 inside the Mary Baker Eddy Library. Visitors walk along a bridge through the interior of the globe; the library describes it as a unique walk-through stained-glass globe. The spherical geometry produces pronounced acoustic effects often described as a whispering-gallery phenomenon.
