Chelsea Hotel artistic residents and infamous death

The Hotel Chelsea at 222 West 23rd Street has long been associated with writers, musicians, and artists who lived or worked there, including documented stays by Dylan Thomas. In 1978 Nancy Spungen was found dead in the Chelsea Hotel, an event that contributed to the building's notoriety in local lore.
