Robinson Crusoe House

The Robinson Crusoe House, located on Böttcherstraße in Bremen, Germany, is a unique stepped-gabled building inspired by the adventurous spirit of Daniel Defoe's fictional character. Built in 1931 by coffee merchant Ludwig Roselius, the house features a blend of architectural styles and was designed by Karl von Weihe, with interiors by Eduard Scotland and Alfred Runge. Although it was destroyed during World War II, it was rebuilt in 1954, retaining its cultural significance. The house now hosts the Crusoe Hall, which serves as an exhibition space for the Bremen Artisans Association and features a monthly rotating exhibition, along with the festive Weihnachtsmarkt during the holiday season. Notable sculptures by Bernhard Hoetger adorn its exterior, making it a fascinating stop for tourists and researchers alike.
