Michigan Central Station (former rail hub)

Michigan Central Station served as Detroit's primary intercity rail terminal until passenger service ended in 1988. The large Beaux-Arts station stood largely vacant for decades and became an iconic symbol of Detroit's mid-20th-century decline. In 2018 Ford Motor Company purchased the building with plans for a multi-year rehabilitation and reuse as part of a broader Corktown redevelopment effort.
