Peralta Adobe (Oldest building in San José)

The Peralta Adobe was constructed in 1797 and is the oldest building remaining in San José, built as part of the original Pueblo de San José de Guadalupe. It is operated as a historic house museum that interprets early Spanish, Mexican, and American-era history of the town. The site lies within the traditional territory of the Tamien (Tamyen) Ohlone people, and archaeological and historical records note pre-colonial Ohlone habitation in the Santa Clara Valley.
