Ee Hoe Hean Club

The Ee Hoe Hean Club, established in 1895 in Singapore's Chinatown, is a historic social and business club that played a significant role in the political landscape of early 20th century China. Originally a gathering place for wealthy Chinese businessmen, it became politically active under the leadership of Tan Kah Kee, supporting the Xinhai Revolution and later the China Salvation Movement during World War II. After the war, it returned to its social roots but remained influential in community affairs. The club underwent renovations in 2006 and now features a memorial hall dedicated to early Chinese leaders, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike. The club is still operational today, maintaining its exclusivity with membership by invitation only.
