Kapoor Haveli

Kapoor Haveli, located in Peshawar, Pakistan, is a historic residential building that served as the ancestral home of the renowned Kapoor family, a significant name in Indian cinema. Constructed between 1918 and 1922 by Dewan Basheswarnath Kapoor, the haveli is notable for being the birthplace of film icons like Raj Kapoor. After the Partition of India in 1947, the family left Peshawar, and the building changed hands several times. Currently, it is being transformed into a museum with support from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, aiming to preserve its rich cultural heritage. The architecture features exquisite floral motifs and overhanging balconies, although parts of the structure are in disrepair.
