Star of India - maritime ghost stories

The Star of India is an iron-hulled merchant ship built in 1863 and berthed at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. It is widely described as the world’s oldest active sailing ship and is preserved as a museum vessel. Over decades crew members, museum staff, and visitors have told stories of unexplained noises and alleged sightings aboard the ship; such accounts are anecdotal and remain unverified. The Maritime Museum interprets the ship’s commercial and sailing history for the public.
