Inisfada

Inisfada was a grand mansion located in North Hills, Long Island, built between 1916 and 1920 for Nicholas Frederic Brady and his wife Genevieve. Designed by architect John T. Windrim, it featured 87 rooms and was one of the largest estates on Long Island's Gold Coast. The mansion served as a residence for visiting Catholic dignitaries and was later donated to the Jesuit order, functioning as a seminary and retreat house until its closure in 2013. Despite efforts to preserve the historic building, it was demolished later that year to make way for a new residential development. The name 'Inisfada' translates to 'Long Island' in Irish, reflecting its cultural significance.
