Chicano Park murals (Barrio Logan)

Chicano Park, located beneath the San Diego-Coronado Bridge in the Barrio Logan neighborhood, is renowned for its large collection of public murals painted on the bridge's support pillars and surrounding structures. The murals, created by community artists beginning in 1970, depict Chicano history, culture, and political themes and constitute one of the largest outdoor murals collections in the United States. In 2017 the park was designated a National Historic Landmark in recognition of its cultural and historical significance to the Chicano civil rights movement.
