Capitol subway tunnels

The U.S. Capitol complex includes restricted subterranean rail tunnels-commonly called the Capitol subway-that shuttle members of Congress and authorized staff between the Capitol and nearby House and Senate office buildings. The system comprises separate House and Senate lines with small electric trains and security-controlled access points, and it is reserved for official use.
