Moltke Mansion

Moltke Mansion, located at the corner of Bredgade and Dronningens Tværgade in Copenhagen, is a historic Baroque town mansion built between 1700 and 1702 for Ulrik Frederik Gyldenløve, the illegitimate son of King Frederick III. Originally known as Gyldenløve's Little Mansion, it features intricate sandstone decorations and notable interior designs by Erik Pauelsen. The mansion has a rich history, having passed through various prominent owners, including Danish Prime Ministers and affluent merchants. It served as a residence for Queen Juliana Maria after the Fire of Christiansborg Palace and became a cultural hub during the Golden Age, hosting literary salons led by the writer Friederike Brun. In 1852, it was acquired by Adam Wilhelm Moltke, the first Danish Prime Minister under the constitutional monarchy, and has since retained its historical significance in the heart of Copenhagen.
