Coley Building

The Coley Building was a historic two-story commercial structure located in Mobile, Alabama, originally built in 1836 as a one-story Federal style masonry building. It served as a hub for brokerage firms before the Civil War and was seized by the Confederate government during the conflict. In the 1870s, it was remodeled with a Beaux-Arts cast iron facade. Although it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, the building was demolished in 2003 to make way for a parking deck. However, its architectural details were preserved and incorporated into the new structure, allowing visitors to appreciate its historical significance even today.
