Grouselands

Grouselands, also known as the Waterman Farm, is a historic estate located in Danville, Vermont, showcasing a unique example of Shingle style architecture. Originally an Italianate farmhouse from the 1860s, it underwent significant redesign in the early 20th century under architect Stephen Waterman. The estate features a gambrel-roofed main house with distinctive wooden shingles, Doric columns, and a blend of Colonial Revival and Italianate elements. Established as a farm as early as 1799, Grouselands offers a glimpse into Vermont's architectural evolution and rural history, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers alike. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
