Boston Massacre (1770) - Old State House site

On March 5, 1770, British soldiers fired into a crowd in front of the Old State House, killing five colonists in an incident later labeled the Boston Massacre. Victims included Crispus Attucks, who is often described as the first casualty of the American Revolution. The event occurred directly outside the Old State House and was used by colonial leaders to galvanize opposition to British policies. The Old State House building and the marked site remain in downtown Boston as a historical landmark.
