Meridian Gate (Huế)

The Meridian Gate, or Ngọ Môn, is the grand entrance to the Imperial City in Huế, Vietnam, built in 1833 during the reign of Emperor Minh Mạng. Modeled after the Meridian Gate of Beijing's Forbidden City, it features a striking two-level design with a fortress-like base and an ornate upper level known as the 'Five-Phoenix Pavilion.' This pavilion served as a viewing platform for the emperor to observe military parades and ceremonies.
