Cooma Cottage

Cooma Cottage is a historic house museum located in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. Built between 1830 and 1837 by Cornelius and Rebecca O'Brien, it is one of the oldest surviving rural houses in the Yass region. The cottage served as the home of explorer Hamilton Hume for over 30 years and played a significant role in the early development of the merino wool industry in Australia. The property features a variety of significant natural and built elements, including rare plant species. Visitors can explore the heritage-listed site, which showcases the craftsmanship of early settlers and offers insights into colonial life.
