Spreckels Organ Pavilion (large outdoor pipe organ)

The Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park was completed in 1915 and houses one of the largest outdoor pipe organs in the world. The pavilion and its organ were gifts from sugar magnate John D. Spreckels and the site has hosted free public organ concerts and civic events for over a century. The organ is maintained by the city and regular performances remain a longstanding cultural tradition in San Diego.
