Crittenden Farm

Crittenden Farm is a historic farm-and-ranch complex located in northern Ashland County, Ohio, known for its distinctive agricultural architecture and rich history in sheep farming. Established in the 19th century by Medad Crittenden, the farm became renowned for its Delaine sheep, which were exhibited at fairs and sold across the United States and even to South Africa. The property spans 665 acres and features a well-preserved Second Empire farmhouse, a family cemetery, and one of the region's few virgin forests. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, Crittenden Farm offers a glimpse into the agricultural heritage of the area and is a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in Ohio's rural history.
