National Capitol Columns at U.S. National Arboretum

The National Capitol Columns are a freestanding colonnade of 22 Corinthian columns displayed in a meadow at the U.S. National Arboretum. The columns originally stood as part of the U.S. Capitol’s east portico and were removed and later installed at the Arboretum as a designed architectural feature. Their installation created a notable landscape-architecture composition that interprets salvaged Capitol fabric in a new setting.
