Geisel Library (UC San Diego)

Geisel Library at the University of California San Diego is an iconic brutalist/modernist structure designed by William Pereira and opened in 1970. Its distinctive cantilevered, multilayered concrete forms are widely recognized as a symbol of UC San Diego's campus identity. In 1995 the library was renamed Geisel Library in honor of Audrey and Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss). The building houses the university's central library collections and special collections.
