Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park

The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort was built by Mormon missionaries in 1855–1856 and is the site of the first permanent non-native settlement in the Las Vegas Valley. Remnants of the adobe fort and interpretive exhibits are preserved at the state historic park, which documents early settlement and interactions in the area. The fort's history is central to local accounts of how the Las Vegas oasis attracted travelers and settlers in the 19th century.
