Victoria Public Hall

Victoria Public Hall, also known as the Town Hall, is a historic building in Chennai, India, celebrated for its Indo-Saracenic architecture and rich history. Constructed between 1888 and 1890 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, it has served as a theater and venue for significant public gatherings, hosting notable figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda. The hall features a striking design with an Italianate tower and intricately carved details, accommodating up to 1,200 people across its two large halls. The surrounding area includes the Trevelyan Fountain, honoring contributions to the city's water supply. After years of neglect, the hall underwent renovation in 2010, restoring its historical significance and making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
