Young's Market Company Building

The Young's Market Company Building, constructed in 1924 and located at 1610 West 7th Street in Los Angeles, is a notable historic site designed by architect Charles F. Plummer in the Spanish Renaissance Revival style. Featuring elegant marble columns and a decorative terra-cotta frieze, the building originally served as a retail market and office space. It gained fame in the 1980s by appearing in films like Body Double and Fright Night. After undergoing renovations in 1997, it was transformed into 44 live-work lofts. Recognized for its historical significance, it was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
