Ramgarhia Bunga

Ramgarhia Bunga is a historic three-storeyed structure located at the entrance of the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar. Built in the late 18th century by Sikh warrior Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, it served as a watchtower to protect the sacred site from attacks. The Bunga features two prominent minaret-style towers and houses the Takht-e-Taus slab, a significant artifact from the Mughal era. This architectural marvel, constructed from red sandstone and burnt bricks, showcases intricate designs and has undergone various renovations over the years, including restoration after damage from earthquakes and military operations. As the last surviving example of its kind, Ramgarhia Bunga stands as a testament to the resilience and heritage of the Sikh community.
