Svane Apotek (Copenhagen)

Svane Apotek, established in 1660, was one of Copenhagen's first pharmacies and operated until 1994. Originally located in Højbrostræde, it moved to Østergade in 1782 and became a significant establishment under the ownership of the Benzon family from 1849 to 1967. The pharmacy's building, a notable Functionalist structure completed in 1934, is protected by the Danish Heritage Agency. Today, the site houses a Bang & Olufsen flagship store, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers exploring Copenhagen's rich history.
