Thirlestaine House

Thirlestaine House is a stunning Grade I listed building located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Originally started in 1820 by amateur architect J.R. Scott, it was later purchased by Lord Northwick in 1838, who expanded it to accommodate his extensive art collection. Following Northwick's death in 1859, the house was acquired by Sir Thomas Phillipps, who filled it with his vast book collection. Today, it is owned by Cheltenham College, which purchased the property in 1947.
