The Alamo - former mission and 1836 battle site

The Alamo, originally Mission San Antonio de Valero, is a former Franciscan mission located in downtown San Antonio. It was the site of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo during the Texas Revolution, where Texian defenders including Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and William B. Travis were killed.
