Hôtel de Chevreuse

The Hôtel de Chevreuse, a 17th-century Parisian mansion built in 1660 for Marie de Rohan, Duchess of Chevreuse, was designed by architect Pierre Le Muet. Located at 33 Rue Saint-Dominique, it featured a traditional French style with a blend of court and garden. The mansion was notable for its grand staircase decorated by painter Paolo Antonio Brunetti in 1747. After passing through generations, it was partly destroyed in 1868 and ultimately demolished in 1900. Today, remnants of its exquisite interior can be found in the Musée du Louvre and the Musée Carnavalet, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
