The Sands Hotel Copa Room - historic televised performances

The Sands Hotel's Copa Room on the Las Vegas Strip was a major showroom in the 1950s–1960s where entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and other members of the Rat Pack performed in shows that were filmed or broadcast as television specials and variety programs. The Sands (address now occupied by The Venetian) became synonymous with televised Las Vegas entertainment and helped establish the city as a location for TV production. The property was demolished in 1996, but its role in mid-20th-century televised performances is well documented in entertainment histories. The site at 3355 S Las Vegas Blvd remains notable for that broadcast legacy.
