Jacob Hoffstetter House

The Jacob Hoffstetter House, located at 322 East Washington Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a historic home built in 1887 in the Queen Anne architectural style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Originally constructed by Jacob Hoffstetter, a German immigrant who established a successful saloon and grocery, the house served as a residence for his family and later as a boarding house for members of the University of Michigan's Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. The building features distinctive red brick construction, narrow windows with stone accents, and intricate architectural details. Although it was converted into apartments in 1937, much of its original charm remains, making it a notable example of 19th-century architecture in the area.
