Chia Jani

Chia Jani is an intriguing archaeological site located in Iran's Kermanshah Province, near the village of Palang Gerd. Discovered in 1999, it dates back to the early and middle Neolithic periods, showcasing significant lithic industries, including bladelet production from obsidian. The site features unique artifacts such as 'tadpole ware' and plano-convex bricks, linking it to other ancient sites in the region. However, its preservation is threatened by natural erosion and agricultural expansion. Plans for further excavation were interrupted by geopolitical events in 2003, making it a site of both historical and contemporary interest for researchers and tourists alike.
