Kingsley Plantation archaeological record

Kingsley Plantation on Fort George Island preserves a late-18th/early-19th-century plantation complex and the remains of enslaved people’s quarters. Archaeological investigations at the plantation have documented building foundations, domestic artifacts, and earlier Native American and colonial occupations on the site. The plantation house dates to about 1798 and is cited as the oldest standing plantation house in Florida.
