Café Wha?

Café Wha? in Greenwich Village opened in 1959 and has been a longtime downtown nightclub. The club became known as a venue where early-career performers in music and stand-up comedy played sets. It continues to present live comedy and music shows in its basement performance space. The venue is frequently cited in histories of New York’s performance scene.
